According to the statistics of China Shipbuilding Industry Association, in the first 10 months of this year, China's shipbuilding completed 46.67 million dwt, down 15.5% year on year. The number of orders for new ships was 16.42 million dwt, down 44.8% year on year. At the end of October, the order volume of hand-held ships was 117 million dwt, down 22.2% from the end of 2011.
Although all three indicators are negative, the decline of shipbuilding industry is slowing down. Statistics show that the decline of the three major indicators of shipbuilding industry in the first three quarters was 18.5%, 46.9% and 28.4% respectively. Ship prices also reflect the market is slowing and stabilizing. Official law enforcement ships, luxury cruise ships and green ships have become new highlights of the market
Since the outbreak of the financial crisis, China's shipbuilding industry has been in a recession, especially the traditional three ship bulk carrier, container ship and tanker market. Since this year, many small and medium-sized shipyards have been stuck in the dilemma of no harvest and shutdown; although large shipyards have surplus grain, they can't afford to sit on the sidelines. According to the 46.67 million tons completed in the previous October and 117 million tons of hand-held orders, in the absence of new orders, many shipyards will have no ships to build after more than two years.
Market demand is also changing. The market of general transport ships is in a recession, but some new highlights emerge from time to time, testing the technical strength of shipyards.
The official law enforcement ship is one of the highlights. In order to protect the marine ecological environment and protect China's marine rights and interests, in recent years, relevant departments have successively ordered and received a number of official law enforcement vessels. At the beginning of November, the GEM COMPANY Sunbird (300123, Guba) yacht Co., Ltd. announced that it won the bid for 32 law enforcement speedboats from China maritime supervision and Administration Bureau of the State Oceanic Administration, with an amount of 268 million yuan. The two state-owned shipbuilding enterprises have also gained a lot in the market of official law enforcement ships.
